I just purchased this app. I have quite a few music learning apps, including apps for learning music theory. Well - I downloaded this one and I opened it up. I pressed the "play" button and some background music started to play. As the music was playing, I noticed the large wheel in the middle of my iPad screen, which indicated that the wheel was presently in the C Major scale. Of course I was familiar with the C Major scale, because as Ive said, I have other apps that teach you music and music theory. I looked below the wheel and found a set of piano keys which went from the music note of C to the music note of A. After watching a short video on YouTube I learned what to do next. So I began playing some notes on the piano keys on my iPad to go along with the background music. To my surprise, the tune I was playing sounded really good together with the background music. Nice! So, the next test is whether or not I will actually learn my scales and have fun in the process. Lord knows, I sure can use a lot of help, and Im hoping that this app will do the trick for me since my head is so clogged up with all the information after trying for so many years to learn music theory and how to play an instrument by reading sheet music. I am not good at playing by ear, maybe because I originally started to learn music in grammar school but had to stop due to circumstances. If I make good progress with this app, I will certainly update my review for those of you folks who are not sure whether or not you should purchase this app. For now, I am giving the app FOUR stars. I guess one reason is because I have only started using it, and because I would love to be able to rotate the app and view the piano keys in landscape view as well as portrait view. Hopefully, we will see the developers accomplish that for us. Until then, four stars. Thank you.
